After two great FA Cup Semi Finals in mid-April we can now look forward to the Emirates FA Cup Final on Saturday 19th May, which will be a repeat of the first Final played at the new Wembley Stadium back in 2007.
Manchester United take on Chelsea to see who will be crowned the Champions of the English Football League.
Man United will no doubt be hoping it will be their year as they have been completely outplayed by their neighbours Manchester City in this year’s Premiership Title race. United reached this year’s final by beating Tottenham 2-1. Tottenham started off the match the better team, scoring the first goal through Dele Alli after 11 minutes. However, Manchester United equalized through Alexis Sanchez just before the half hour mark. In the second half Manchester United were the more dominant team and went 2-1 ahead mid-way through the half which they held on to.
Chelsea on the other hand will have other ideas, they will be hoping it is their year after reaching consecutive FA Cup Finals.
In their Semi- Final Chelsea faced Southampton who were in were in their first FA CUP Semi Final for 15 years. When the whistle blew for kick-off it was Chelsea who started the sharper of the two teams and it was surprising there were no goals in the first 45 minutes. This changed barely a minute into the second half when Olivier Giroud scored the first goal. Chelsea continued to press for the rest of the half despite a penalty appeal by Southampton which was turned down. Chelsea sealed the match in the 62nd minute when Morata who had only recently come on to the pitch made an instant impact by heading in the second goal from an Azpilicueta’s cross. Unfortunately for Southampton there was no way back for them and the score remained at 2-0 at the final whistle.
